Why Therapy?
People seek the support of therapy for many reasons. Some common reasons people seek therapy:
Feeling stuck in some area of your life...relationships, career, lifestyle, habits, and so on
You sometimes feel lost, alone, and not in control of your life
Feeling confused about who you are or where your life is heading
You are having difficulty reaching your goals
You have experienced a lot of loss, and you need someplace safe to grieve
Finding that you have trouble showing up fully in relationships
Having trouble losing your self in relationships
Struggling with feeling okay within yourself
Your daily experience includes more anxiety, dread, or discomfort than you want
You want to feel more joy, connection, and love in your life
If one or more of these resonates with you, I want you to know that you're not alone and support is available that can accelerate your relief and your growth. Therapy is assisted self-discovery, and offers a nurturing relationship where you can:
Discover and Be your authentic self
Feel truly heard and understood
Attain a better understanding of yourself
Develop skills for improving your relationships
Find new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
Manage anger, depression, and other emotional challenges
Grieve old losses
Let go of old, limiting, or inaccurate beliefs about yourself or others
Improve communications skills
Get "unstuck" from unhealthy patterns
Discover new ways to view and solve problems
Improve self-esteem and boost self-confidence
As a therapist, I seek to build a strong relationship with each of my clients based on trust and absolute respect. With this foundation, we can study what barriers are keeping you from feeling in flow, whether these barriers stem from your past or your present.
We all have a hunger for full selfhood, belonging, autonomy, connection, love, meaningful, and wholeness.
We are also all shaped by our experiences throughout life. What we derive from these experiences are the implicit and unconscious beliefs, messages, ideas, and memories that shape how we relate to ourselves, to others, and to the world at large.
If any of this core material is outdated or inaccurate, it can interfere with our ability to meet those needs listed above or achieve a sense of flow or wholeness in our day to day life.
I endeavor to ensure that my clients feel that their fears, feelings, thoughts, and needs will be compassionately received in a safe, non-judgmental manner.
I work from a mindfulness-based, psychodynamic, experiential, and somatic approach that draws from the cutting edge of what we are learning about the human condition...the mind, the brain, and the body.
Contact me to schedule a 20 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. If we're not, I'll have a sense of what you're looking for and be able to offer a few names. I also offer a sliding scale option for anyone who has difficulty affording the full rate; please inquire about this if it is a need.
I look forward to meeting you!
